Established: June, 1984 -Three Unit & Six Unit- 2003 (Unaided)
The Department of Economics is one of the leading departments of our college, committed to academic excellence, innovative teaching, and the holistic development of students. Since its establishment in June 1984, the department has played a vital role in nurturing analytical thinking, critical understanding, and research-oriented skills among students. The department offers undergraduate programs with a strong emphasis on both the theoretical and applied aspects of economics.
The department is proud to have a team of highly qualified and research-oriented faculty members.
Dr. Anant N. Lokhande, Professor & Head Dept. of Economics – Specialization in Agricultural Economics.
Dr. D.G. Chavan Assistant Professor in Economics – Specialization in Environmental Economics
Both faculty members are actively involved in teaching, research, and extension activities. They have contributed research papers to reputed journals, participated in national and international seminars, and guided students towards academic and professional excellence. The faculty members are also engaged in research publications, book writing, and paper presentations.

To impart theoretical and applied knowledge of economics to produce human resource to meet our needs in the context of changing global economic scenario.
Mission
- To enabling to students about the current economic scenario.
- To equip students with basics of research methodology of the subject
- To impart vocational guidance through theoretical and project-based study of small industries to the aspiring entrepreneurs of India.
