History and Development
The department established in 1996 with the establishment of the science stream in the college. As an institutional policy the department does not offer three-year degree programme in Botany. The department offers courses of botany up to second year of degree programme in Zoology and Chemistry. Beginning with common laboratory for all the subjects, now the department has separate well-equipped laboratory of 880 sq. ft. area having working capacity of 20 students. Two well qualified full-time teachers are working in the department.

Degree Programmes
Graduate Level: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
The department offers major Botany courses up second semester and then minor Botany courses up to fifth semester of the degree programme. Besides, the department offers Open Elective courses for BA and BCom programmes.
