With a very clear and job ready vision for students Language Laboratory and Personality Development Department has been introduced in SRM college. Basically the students of Sindhudurg District lag behind while presenting themselves in English. This has become a great hurdle in their job placements. Identifying the need of the time the management of SRM college has established this department. Through which it is training its students specifically in reading, writing, listening and speaking English. Corporate English, Spoken English, Professional Communication and Etiquettes has been made the core of its syllabus and thus all the first year students are enrolled for this course. The aim is to find out their problem areas and fear factors in the first year of graduation only so that in the next two years they will be made to overcome their drawbacks and will be introduced to the market and corporate world .This gives them idea about the expectations of recruiters and they also start preparing with lots of verbal tests, Group Discussions, Mock Interviews etc. This concept has also got successful and every year the no of students getting placed in variety of companies is increasing.
